Benjamin Fortier (Forgemaster) Damn. So glad I discovered these guys. The production on the drums is a bit too crisp for my liking. Vocals are unreal. I also love the style the bass player rocks. Amazing EP. Favorite track: Erosion.

Benjamin Crommentuijn It's black metal but with a twist... I would almost call it Coldplay meets Darkthrone. These guys put an original spin on a genre which is often confined by stupid rules. I'm glad that bands like Underling keep developing the black metal sound into something new and fresh.

Erosion 06:53
I have seen all hope come to die and bring forth a wasted life. Sick with exhaust, I see the promise that was erased. Burn.... Burn what you love. Eroded, Erased, Defected. I have chosen... Failure, my lover, make your wish for life. Traced in your eyes, I see the promise erased. -- Eroded. Erased. Deprived. Self-Destructed.

Guided 06:38
I have come forth from the dark into the light. I burst through by dim light --- By dim, sullen paths flickering the past far away. I see through the heart of the wanderer and find nothing but the place where it all went wrong. Has once the star-seated child heard the whisper of death? Guided like crows from bounties breast. I have come forth from the dark into the light. I burst through from the dim, flickering past. Guided like crows from bounties breast.

Irreverent dawn ascend over me. Illuminate the hidden sorrows I've buried beneath. In frost bitten tombs of depression i feed, -- yet this ache of starvation within, it never leaves. I am crippled by every last beckon of hope that stood so tall -- to which i crawl. I am lost before mortality. It stood so tall. It drips and creeps down my spine as it slips away with the dawn. The bloom of luminescence swells with the blinding devotion, it pours out where i dwell -- It pours out where i dwell. The bloom of luminescence swells with the burden; devotion -- it pours out where i dwell. The bloom of luminescence swells with the blinding devotion -- it pours out were i dwell.
4.
I am forgotten. I am the leper's disease. I am the poison, the poison that sung you to sleep. While the world comes crashing down, I am the haunt in your dreams. To live is to breathe, to feel is to see -- follow my heartache into the sea My final breath is submerged in sorrow -- dead; drowning in agony Sinking with solace inside my brittle bones... To live is to breathe, to feel is to see -- carry our stars into the sea Begging for solace; drowning in sorrow -- dead; swallowed in apathy Please release me from my sinking life Tales of ashes and bones, my only song to sing.... I found love and truth where the sun goes to die. -- I am reborn. I am reborn. I was born unto a gasping sun

"Fallujah bassist Rob Morey is among the friends who have long been urging me to explore Black Metal and turning me on to the more atmospheric elements of the genre. He needs no better demonstration than this record that pairs him with Alex Bent, one of the great young death metal drummers of our time, and vocalist Antonio Palermo. This is atmospheric music for the connoisseur." - Heavyblogisheavy, Brian Shields' Top New Metal Bands

"Big gorgeous guitars meet shimmering blastbeat sections across Underling’s four-song Breathe Deeply, the band’s second EP this year (two songs from their first, Crows, were reissued on Breathe Deeply). These songs shine—my favorite is probably “Erosion,” - Invisible Oranges

"Underling stands out from the rest of the would be’s with Breathe Deeply by showcasing not only a masterful penchant of composition, but also crafting a musical tone that puts the atmosphere into their genre of choice. Without a single song being shorter than 6-and-a-half minutes in length, Breathe Deeply also nudges towards a tendency of being progressive." - Emoatheart
